Loretta Agnes Black

1922-2007

At the appointed time, God sent the Angels to lead our precious mother, Loretta, to her eternal reward. Suddenly, while vacationing in Collingwood, Ontario on June 20th, 2007, Mom passed away peacefully in the presence of several family members, after a lengthy illness at the age of 85. Beloved wife of Kenneth Robert Black (predeceased) and Frank Adam Hunter (predeceased). She was a special, one of a kind, loving and devoted mother to Jacqueline Elizabeth Hunter of Pickering , Mary Elizabeth ( John Zadkovich) of Mississauga and Deborah Marie Hunter of New York City . Cherished and proud grandmother of David (Lindsay), Matthew and Diana Zadkovich and loving great- grandmother of Damien Zadkovich. Respected and much loved stepmother of Lila O'Blenes, James (predeceased) and Joan Black, Russell (Shelley) Black and Sandra Black. Respected step- grandmother of Steven and Gordon ( Corinne) O' Blenes and their children , Lindsey, Campbell, Jacob, Brooklyn and a new born child. Caring step grandmother of Cindy ( Justin) White and their children Kayla and Emilee and step grandmother of James Black. Mom was the last surviving member of the family and the youngest surviving daughter in a family of 12 children. Our mother was the 7-th daughter of the 7-th son. She was predeceased by her parents, Andrew Howell (1958) and Mary Elizabeth Mc Namara (1926) of Marysville Ontario. Mom will be sadly missed by many other relatives and friends. Mom's innate ability to evoke the best in people -- by listening, understanding and caring for others endeared her to family and friends alike. We are inspired by her courage and strength. Her kindness and compassion coupled with an unwavering family loyalty, bonded her in a unique way with her family. Mom enriched all of our lives with her insight, intelligence and humor. Friends may call on Sunday, June 24th, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Church, (15347 Yonge Street, Aurora), on Monday, June 25th, 2007 at 11 o'clock. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Happy memories and strength of character are the finest legacy a mother can leave her children. Thank you for the memories and your fine example. We will love you always and forever dear Mom.
