I only today learned of Lori's passing. Shock does not even come close to describing my feelings. She was an amazing person. I knew her when we both attended Bishop's University. We kept in touch over the years, but I'm sad to say we hadn't seen each other in many years. 

My condolences go out to her family and close friends. She was a bright light and the world is now an emptier place without that light. I shall remember her laugh and smile forever. 

May she rest in peace.

It is terrible for us to hear about Lori’s passing away and our deepest sympathy goes out to Dale, Abby, Betty, Andrea, Derek, Glenn and Greg. We are deeply saddened by your loss. 
Our thoughts are with you during this dark time in your life. 

We feel blessed to have known Lori and to have shared precious time and memories with her. She was a very intelligent, open- minded, friendly and gentle person. We met only for a few times but always felt a special bond with her. When she came to Switzerland she luckily chose to stay with us and we spent an unforgettable time together. She showed an overwhelming interest in us, our way of life and the country we lived in. She tried “Käsefondue” with great joy :-). Also in that way she showed her unprejudiced nature.
It was a great pleasure to have her and we enjoyed a very special visit with inspiring long discussions about life matters.

When we were in Toronto in 2014 she seemed to successfully have fought breast cancer and even though she felt that it had been a humbling experience she was optimistically looking forward and making plans. It must have been a shock to her and her family that she was losing this battle. 

Lori’s suffering has ended and we will never forget her kindness. May she have en eternal rest and may the family develop the strength to bear the great pain.


So sad to hear about the passing of our dear friend, Lori - who I have known for 23 years.  I was one of 6 of the "Toastmaster" girls who have kept in touch for almost a quarter of a century.  I will miss Lori's smile and friendship.
