Mrs. Lucy DiGiovanni

DiGiovanni, Lucia (Lucy) Filomena (nee Pede) - Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Mackenzie Health in Richmond Hill, Ontario, in her 66th year from bile duct cancer. Lucy is survived by her husband of 44 years, Santino (Sandy) and her children Roberto (Natasha), Alessandro (Faeze), Sonia, and her grandson Santino. She also leaves her mother Rosa, her sister Maria (Jan), her brother Domenic (Stella), and her many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. Lucy's father, Giovanni (John) Pede, predeceased her in 1999.

A teacher with the Toronto District School Board for many years, Lucy will be remembered by her students and colleagues for her dedication and enthusiasm. Her love of life, her adventurous spirit, and her generosity touched those around her. She lived her life fully, even after the cancer diagnosis.

Friends may visit at the Jerrett Funeral Home-Vaughan Chapel, 8088 Yonge Street (south of Hwy. 7), Thornhill, Ontario on Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church, 92 Steeles Avenue West (Yonge and Steeles), Thornhill, Ontario. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Chi-Ki Children's Charity would be appreciated by the family as your expression of sympathy.
