Margaret Flowers Harmer

Passed away with grace on October 10, 2008 at West Park Health Care Centre at the age of 91. Devoted wife of the late Daniel Harmer. She was a wonderful, friend, godmother, "aunt, mother and grandmother". Margaret will be sadly missed by her wide circle of friends who were her greatest treasures. In 1951, she received her Bachelor of Music at the University of Toronto. Margaret sang with passion in the choir at The Church of St. Mary Magdalene under the direction of Dr. Healey Willan. She later pursued a teaching career preparing her many students for The Royal Conservatory of Music examinations in piano and theory. As well as being an Associate of the Sisterhood of St. John the Divine, she was past president and is an Honourary Life Member of St. John's Rehabilitation Hospital Auxiliary. Our sincerest thanks to the staff of 3 West D at West Park for the compassionate care given to Margaret. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, 2008 from 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of St. Mary Magdalene (477 Manning Avenue, Toronto). Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
