Marie Therese De Freitas

Wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Therese was born in Georgetown, British Guiana on January 13, 1928; the second of fifteen children of Manuel and Olive Gonsalves. She died peacefully surrounded by her family on September 26th, 2008 in Toronto. Therese lived a rich and meaningful life filled with family, friends, and a 28 year career with the Family Service Association. Therese will be greatly missed by Gus, her husband of 59 years, her loving children Marcelle, Trevor (Mary), Julie (Nick), and Peter (Leigh Ann); her grandchildren Scott, Kevin, Jennifer, Sonia, Chris, Emily, Amanda, Tim, Matthew, Sophie, Olivia and Christian; her great-grandchildren Marcus, Victoria, Mackenzie, William, and Oliver; her brothers, sister, and many close friends. Visitation will be held Monday September 29th, at R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street, Toronto, between 2-4 p.m. and 7-9.p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Tuesday September 30, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
