Marjorie Young

Marjorie passed into the presence of her Lord on April 14, 2022, in her 102nd year.

Much-loved wife of the late John Young. Beloved mother to Lois (Randy), Robert (Julie), Elizabeth (Bryan), Grace (Brian), and Marjorie (Stephen). Treasured Grandmother to 18 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Dear sister to Hubert (Anna), and the late Reta and Arthur Lucas.

Marjorie was born on April 16, 1920 in Lansing, Ontario to Rose and Hubert Lucas. At the age of 10, she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour. Marjorie worked as a practical nurse and dedicated her life to caring for others. She married John in 1948, and together they raised 5 children.

Marjorie’s family will remember her for her unconditional love, encouragement, wisdom, and indomitable spirit. Marjorie was steadfast in her faith. She would remind her loved ones at every chance she could that “God is real”, and the motto of her life was the following verse:

Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have showed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come. Psalm 71:18

We celebrate our beloved Marjorie’s well-lived life, and are comforted by the fact that she is at rest with her Saviour. She is treasured and will be greatly missed.
