It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Marketta on July 29, 2023, in Markham, Ontario. She is survived by her daughter Christina (Paul), her grandson Tyler, and great grandson Xavier. She is also survived by sisters Liisa (late Kenneth), Elizabeth (Jerzy), and Kristiina (Barry).
Marketta is pre-deceased by her parents Taisto and Ellen Keranen; her late husband Alexander “Al”; and her late son Alex Jr.
Marketta will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who was devoted to family and friends and loved every moment she spent with them. Marketta will also be remembered for her award-winning love of gardening and nature.
A gathering will be held between 6-8 p.m., at the Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, 8088 Yonge Street, Thornhill, L4J 1W3, on Thursday August 3, 2023.”
