Mary(Betty) Elizabeth Lea November 30,1928 - March 12,2026, passed away peacefully at the age of 97 with her family by her side. She leaves behind her children John (Donna) and Mary. Her six grandchildren, Melissa(Josh), Derek(Rachel) Stephanie(Ryan), Michelle(Luke), Scott, & Riely, and five great grandchildren Olivia, Julianna, Declan, Braydon and Brooklyn.
Betty will be remembered for her unwavering love of her church, St. Lukes, and the choir which she was a member of for many years. When she wasn't singing in the choir, or helping out with 'out of the cold' you would find her on the golf course all summer, and the curling rink in the winter.
The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all of the staff at Glenhill Strathaven long term care in Bowmanville, as well as the doctors and nurses at Bowmanville hospital for the love and compassion and dignity they all showed her.
Visitation will be held at the church from 11-12 noon, with a mass at 12 noon and a reception to follow in the church hall.
