Auntie Mary was a very kind, considerate and funny lady that always had time for us and was always interested in everything we did. I treasured her emails, birthday cards and notes to let me know she was thinking of us.  I appreciated her stories and could hear her laugh as she shared her observations.  I smile when I think of her!

Mary was not only my sister-in-law but my friend.  She was very family oriented and welcomed me into the family when I married her brother.  Through the years she was always there with a kind word or cookies for which she was famous.  When we moved to Beaconsfield our girls thought family was gone forever.  The first mail delivery brought a wonderful box of Aunty Mary's cookies.  That more than anything helped my girls realize that Mary would always be a part of their life.

Auntie Mary...so kind, polite and always smiling!  Of the many memories...there are two that constantly make me smile.

I was maybe 5 and we were visiting, it was summer time.  I was thrilled to be given an ice cream cone with a bowl of choc sprinkles (that was a big deal because we didn't get them at home). I was outside on the patio about to eat it, meanwhile Morgan was watching within arm's length.  Morgan's nose was my ice cream cone level.  Needless to say one "woof" and I drop my cone.  Much to Morgan's delight!  Auntie Mary quickly produced another ice cream cone AND a new bowl of choc sprinkles. I sat in a chair eating it - while Morgan ate the fallen one.

My other memory that makes me smile is Auntie Mary's 80th birthday.  At one point the room filled with smoke and the fire department came. One fireman stood out above the others...partly because he was 6'7" - then add the gear he was wearing...he stood out!  So easily he reached up to stop the smoke alarm!  He was charming and wished her a Happy Birthday.  She had such a big smile!  As the years went by there would be some situation/story that ended up discussing the fireman.  She still broke out into a big smile as she thought back to that day.

We were so sad to hear of Aunt Mary's passing. So many memories immediately came flooding back of past times in Muskoka and Georgian Bay. Morgan and Missy. Gatherings of families. In the midst of everything, there was Aunt Mary's smile. She was always a safe haven for us. She listened to us and she offered advice. An utterly amazing woman.

Oh, Auntie Mary, such a sweet, sweet lady and one I have nothing but the fondest of memories...thank you for gracing this world with your presence, as it will linger on in the hearts of many and withstand the test of time...hugs to you in Heaven...another angel has landed!

I am deeply saddened by the loss of your Mother…my dear Auntie Mary.  I shall remember her by her constant, gentle nature.  I am thankful to have spoken with her over the past couple of years & ask that you take comfort in knowing how much she spoke so lovingly of you all. There was no one finer and kinder and gentler than Aunt Mary.

When I picture her, I can only remember her smiling, but much more than that she was always the safe refuge, the big heart, the strength beside Uncle David, the great Mom to Mary Elizabeth, Marian and David and a dear dear friend to everyone of every age.

I have great memories of Aunt Mary and Uncle David at their home in North York with Morgan the family lab and the kids in the backyard, everyone in hysterics and Aunt Mary in the midst of it all, calm and happy and just letting everyone enjoy the moment. And the summer visit to their family cottage in Muskoka in the early days. And Aunt Mary in the kitchen, and on the screen in porch and then down at the boathouse.

There was an indescribable quality to Aunt Mary that set her apart from all of the other friends of our parents. There was something she radiated, a kindness, an acceptance, a beautiful sense of humour that made everything seem OK and safe when you were around her.

Aunt Mary displayed an inner strength and an outer beauty that was unique, indelible and will be remembered by all of us who had the privilege to know her.

I am deeply saddened by her death and Debbie and I extend our deepest sympathies to everyone in the Family. Your Mom was by all accounts a "Super Star" and she will be greatly missed.

We were honoured to have known and cared for Mary White.  She was an inspiration - a woman of great kindness and warmth, a friend who held us (as well a countless others),  close.  Her letters were full of cheeriness, always with a genuine interest in what was happening in our own lives.  We will miss her.  Our condolences go out to the family, knowing your loss.  Please know you are in the hearts of those who care.    

Good bye to the finest lady that I know, my dear Gran. Thank you for all of your love and support through the good times and bad. I will never forget all of our adventures together, the laughs we shared, our many lengthy chats on the phone where we tried to solve the worlds problems and all of the lessons you taught me. I could never have asked for a better friend, teacher, confidant and grandmother. You are simply the best. I love you and will miss you so much. ❤️

What a shock. I am so sorry for your loss.  Your Mother was the loveliest lady and a true friend.  May she rest in peace with your Dadand my parents.
