I was truly saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Morrison. She was a staple part of my life growing up as a teenager and that didn’t stop in adulthood. She was a very warm,  accepting person who always made time for you and made you feel like you were a part of her family. Many memorable hours were spent on that front porch talking and when I think of Mrs. Morrison, I remember her with a smile. To say she was one in a million is an understatement. You won’t be forgotten Mrs. Morrison.

We will certainly miss your dear mamma and our sweet Aunt Maude...she was always full of smiles, laughter and sincere care about us and our kids' lives. She never missed a wedding or baby shower and was always genuinely interested in catching up at the cottage and any gathering. 
That was a very beautiful celebration of Maude's precious life and Ian, you did an amazing job with your sweet and very accurate summary of an awesome mom, aunt, friend and sister. We laughed and cried through your photo show and loved the favorite tunes in the ceremony and background music to the pictures too....thanks sooo much for allowing us to view this precious time together, remembering and honoring your beautiful mamma. So very sad to hear that Aunt Maude has passed. She will be fondly remembered by all of us with her ever-present smile and loving nature.......

I am so saddened to hear of Auntie Maude’s passing. She was one of my favourite aunts; always a bright spirit anytime I saw her.  And she was always genuinely interested in chit-chatting and catching up :)
I have many fond memories of family get togethers, both at  home and at the cottage. 
Through all the years, I never knew that we shared the same name - her middle name and my first. 
May She Rest In Peace.

We are heartbroken to hear of your Mom's passing. Maudey as we called her, was like a second Mom to Emily and Grace. We will always cherish the memories of her being a part of our family.

Aunt Maude would often spend weekends at my parent’s place.  I had already moved out into my own home and would pop by for a visit and was always  pleasantly surprised to see Aunt Maude there. I remember leaving my youngest at my mom’s to babysit one Saturday, only to arrive to pick him up and finding Lucas and Aunt Maude making rice Krispy squares together.  Lucas sitting on the counter, Aunt Maude mixing in the marshmallows. Lucas always in a hurry and Aunt Maude tell him to be patience... good things take time she would say to him! Loved catching up with her on my parent’s front porch. She will be sadly missed.

Words cannot express the sorrow I feel for you both as you go through this very difficult time. We (the Barrett family) were blessed to have had your mom in our lives and for some of us, it’s been our entire lives.  I think we must have unofficially adopted her into the family at some point in time because she just kept coming back for more!  Memories…there are so many and I’ll cherish them all but one that always put a smile on my face was how your mom would refer to my mom as Mrs. Barrett even though their friendship spanned over 70 years.   Maude was simply a very special person and I’ll miss her dearly.  Thanks for sharing your mom with us.  The world has lost an amazing lady but heaven has gained an angel. 


Ian and Brenda, can't tell you how sorry I am. I've known your mom literally my whole life. She was a wonderful person and mother to the two of you. I'm going to miss her terribly. She was such a wonderful friend to not just my mom but to all of our family. You both are in my thoughts.

I am so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. Maude was truly a special person and a valued and much loved friend of the Barrett's for more years than I can count. Please know both of you are in my thoughts and prayers, remember when you lose someone you love, you gain an angel you know. Please accept my condolences.

I remember when I was in kindergarten, and my Mom was unable to pick me up from school one day, so she told my teacher that Maude would be there for me.  When Maude arrived at my classroom, the teacher asked us “does anyone know who that is …?”, and I replied “that’s Maude”.  Even at five years old, I remember being shocked !  Why did she have to ask ?  Didn’t EVERYONE know Maude ???

Christmas will never be the same again, but we know there is another bright star shinning in the sky tonight. Maude always had a smile and a laugh no matter now bad things got, she loved her family with all her heart and she will be sadly missed. Rest in peace my friend.
