What a gracious, lovely friend Orville was.  Ellen, Sue, myself and Orville travelled together for my first trip to Australia for an amazing reiki retreat with Denise and John.  What an adventure, full of laughs, learning and love. It was early days of travel for me and I had packed like I was moving there!  At the Honolulu airport Orville thought our taxi driver was going to collapse lifting my huge suitcase into the trunk and I was beginning to feel foolish and wondered how the bag had become sooo heavy. We were supposed to share a small room and he was having second thoughts. Then we discovered I had the wrong bag and Sue came with me back to the airport to exchange it. It settled it for Orville, he wanted to go to bed after a long travel day and so I became Sue and Ellen's roommate.  Well he didn't hold it against me and we had the best time ever. We became fast friends on that trip. His generosity of spirit and love for people was displayed so elegantly when we went for dinner to a Japanese tappanaki restaurant and shared the table with a family. By the end of dinner we were one big happy family complete with group photos.  
His stories and gentle, humble, and humourous deliveries of wisdom, I will always treasure. I always felt welcome in Orville's presence and am grateful for his friendship and the wonderful family he created and shares with us. I love you all so dearly and send my condolences, prayers and blessings. 
He will be missed here and welcomed in heaven. In a reiki 2, they were preparing a huge elegant feast for him, just as he did for so many of us. I can see him sitting next to Den sharing a toast to the wonderful ride and the continuing love, we are all a part of.

Ellen, my sincerest condolences on the loss of your father.

I have the fondest of memories of all times I shared with Orville beginning with Reiki classes in 2004 followed by Viamede Retreat. Orville had the wisdom of a sage and the heart of the most divine being with the softest gentle teachings imparted with kindness. I felt privileged and honoured to share time and healing experiences with him. My heart and prayers go out to all his family and friends who will miss his presence here. Ellen, So sorry to hear about your dad's passing. My first Akashic reading,at my first Viamede retreat was Orville with Tal I didn't know he was your father at the time. What a lovely introduction to a most interesting man. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Lots of love to you.

I'd just taken Reiki at the Books of Light, and being one of the most eastern channels in Toronto (and on an artsyfartsy time schedule), I had the privilege of going out to Reiki Orville as he was doing his chemotherapy. Who was this man, I wondered? His apartment was immaculate. He had a wicked sense of humour. And his method of teaching was very subtle. I was struck by his absolute faith in the Reiki energy and our teacher, Den Crundall. His love and respect for her made him a shining example of what a true student is. I'm certain he is continuing to laugh with her on the other side... "Do you think they get the joke yet?"

So sorry to hear of the news of Orville. I took reiki in 1995 and Orville was there with me to show me and help me experience reiki. I will always remember his kindness and lovely words of wisdom. Orville Lawrence Rose: Born: June 26, 1936. Died: November 26, 2014. A man who chose to become my father when nobody else wanted the job...Thank you Dad for all you taught me and for all that you have given me. I may not be able to touch you any longer or share my lame jokes with you but please Dad, just know that you have forever touched my heart and your memory will live with me for all eternity. Of Orville's brood that I know and love, and to those I've not yet met, I offer my sincere condolences for the loss of a wonderful Dad and a truly remarkable human being. My journey with Reiki began around the same time as Orville's, and we met shortly after: around the same time that my father said his goodbyes. That was 21 years ago: Orville, and the Roses were there to catch me as I faltered. And because of that, I didn't fall. I felt the pain, and the fear, and I got up again and kept walking. I still am. Now, I can only return that kindness, in Spirit and shine back the gratitude for having met your Dad, and journeyed with you all at different times.
