

GIACOMINI, Palma – Born November 14th, 1930. Palma passed away peacefully on May 10th, 2025 at the Toronto Western Hospital surrounded by family. Beloved sister of Ottavio, the late Gustavo, the late Remo, the late Giuseppe(Ida), the late Francesco(Nella), Maria(Aldo), and the late Settimio(Fiorina). Loving daughter of the late Egidio and Rosa Giacomini. Cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
Palma was born in the historic hamlet of Serra D’Aiello, Cosenza, Italy. In 1960, Palma, her mother Rosa and her siblings Remo, Giuseppe, Gustavo, Maria, Settimio and Ottavio emigrated to Canada, joining her father Egidio and sibling Francesco and his wife Nella and children. Shortly thereafter, Palma began work at a plastics packaging factory until the late 1970s when she left her employment to devote herself to looking after her parents and siblings.
She will be remembered as a very caring, generous and selfless person who was a second mother to many of her nephews and nieces. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be at the Kane – Jerrett Funeral Home – Thornhill, 8088 Yonge Street (south of Hwy 7) on Friday, May 16th, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at 11am. Entombment to be held at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
