I first met Patrick at ACAS in 1997 when William Lau was E.D. then, he was a handsome young Asian male I've ever seen. He was very kind with big huge smile on his face, since then we were good friends and I became a volunteer. For 11 years, I helped out with his duties after he step down as board member to become the support worker for Asian PHA's. It was a great honor to know Patrick for all those years I worked with. Those good memories will be with me for a long-time, thank you so much Pat!

Oh my God, ACAS's awesome community support worker for asians PHA's has gone to the spirit world. The last I spoke to Pat was in a dream, two weeks before he past away. In his usual way, he said, "Ernie's here". He knew then I would see him one last time. He was very happy where he is now, a place of palm trees, the smell of sweet-grass and the forest after a rain storm. He loves the beauty of nature of his homeland. Now he is there. Andrew, I know what you are feeling when I lost someone close to me. Patrick is very patient, you will see him again. Patrick is not truly dead, he will always be alive in our hearts and we will all see him again.

With a short period of acquaintance, you have shown me how happy life could be with your jolly way of interaction beyond what you are battling inside. My prayers for you. May the Lord grant you the peace that our world cannot give anyone of us... God bless your soul!

Patrick, your courage, openness and playfulness were an inspiration to be around. I learned so much about life and finding peace and happiness just by being in your presence. You had - and continue to have - such a lovely, positive impact on so many people.

I met Patrick three years ago from ACAS event. I was deeply touched by his smile and endless energy to help out. Although I did not have the opportunity to get to know Patrick at a deeper level, he has inspired me to be proud and be positive in facing life challenges. Patrick, you had made a significant change in this world. With love, and RIP.

Patrick has touched so many of us in so many special ways. He has taught us the essence of living and loving. He will always be with us in memories and in spirit. Our warmest thoughts to Andrew, Mr. and Mrs. Truong, and Patrick's siblings and families - you all have shown us the beauty of unwavering love.

I was saddened to hear of Patrick's passing and although I did not have the pleasure of meeting him personally I was aware of the great work he did in the HIV community and people like Patrick have inspired me to do the work I do and that is a legacy that wil never be forgotten. Patrick Truong lived his life with kindness, courage, determination and generosity. In 2010 in recognition of his service to our community and his many contributions to our province Patrick was awarded the Ontario AIDS Network's Caregiver Award and entered into our Honour Roll. When he accepted his award, Patrick spoke of the importance of ensuring that people with HIV always receive the "compassion, love and dignity that they deserve." Patrick inspired and challenged us. My dear, dear friend you have left this world for a place of peace and calm. You will rest with the angels and all those gone before you. This world has lost a compassionate, caring and loving person. Please watch over us from above. Sleep peacefully. You will be truly missed and forever loved.

I am so sorry to hear of Patrick's death. Patrick has been part of the HIV/AIDS landscape for so long I can't remember when I actually first met him. We sat on many committees together over the years and it was always a pleasure to work with him. Patrick I will miss you ... WE in the HIV/AIDS movement, will miss you!
