On Friday April 28, 2023 Russ peacefully passed away at Glynnwood Retirement Residence in Thornhill, Ontario at the age of 97.
Predeceased by his wife Christeve (03/13/2020), survived by children, Arlene Shirley (Ed), Craig Brankston, Peter Brankston (Carol Anne), Jean Currie, Jim Currie (Anna); grandchildren, Matthew Shirley and Blair Marchand (Rob) and great grandchildren Quinn, Hayden; nieces and nephews.
Russ was a WWII veteran in the Royal Canadian Navy, he enjoyed sports all his life, playing hockey, golf and curling.
Member of Thornhill Country Club since 1962 and past president 1966.
