Fittingly, he was able to enjoy a final Father’s Day celebration amongst his eight children (Suong, Loan, Tam, Ngoc, Nuong, Chau, Yen & Chi), eleven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and loving wife of 68 years, Nga Nguyen.
Quang is also survived by his brothers Loi and Van, along with his sister Dau.
He was born on the 17th of November, 1933 in Binh Duong, Vietnam. As a young man, Quang was known as someone who was enterprising and adventurous. When he met Nga, these characteristics inspired them to eventually seek a new life in Canada for their family.
After landing in Toronto at age 56, the hardworking Quang quickly established himself as a man of virtue and quality in his profession. He was a constant source of leadership as his children settled into school and careers under his guidance. In addition to being a beacon for his family, Quang also enjoyed tennis - a sport he would continue playing well into his 70s.
Quang was also an avid reader, both of books and current affairs. Even in his final years, when his eyesight dimmed, he loved to read newspapers and discuss the state of the world with friends and family.
He was a great man, who led a long, fulfilling life. Quang leaves behind a legacy of friends, children, and grandchildren that will always remember his wit, his style, and the love he had for those close to him.
May he rest in peace and will forever be in our hearts.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Humber River Hospital. As well as Dr. Hamrahi and the staff at Saint Elizabeth for their care of Quang in his final days.
