14 days shy of his 100th birthday, on Tuesday January 6, 2009, Ray passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Elginwood Long Term Care, Richmond Hill. Beloved husband of the late Evelyn Mary Bergin (2008). Loving father of Michael (Mary), David (Audrey), Rick (Marilyn), Paul (Patty), Mary Rae (Dave Main) and Peggy (Paul Lysaght). Dear grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Our family extends a heartfelt thank you to the caring and compassionate staff of Hickory Lane at Elginwood.

Friends may call on Friday, January 9, 2009 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Immaculate Roman Catholic Church (10295 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill), held on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Good Shepherd Refuge Centre or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
