Richard (Dick) G. Howe

Died peacefully on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 after a final battle with cancer in his 84th year. Survived by his loving wife of 58 years Peggy and their 3 children – Susan Walsh, Peter (Sally) and Nancy (Brian) Lowes. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was a proud member of EngBus ’57 who spent his working career in the plastics industry with Union Carbide, Nova Chemicals and Uniplast Industries and was honoured as a Plastics Pioneer. Upon retirement, he and Peggy continued to enjoy golf and tennis at Donalda (where they have been members for over 40 years), winters in St. Augustine, Florida and traveling to Europe to visit son Peter who has led United World Colleges in Italy and the Netherlands for the past decade. Friends may call on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge St., at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
