CAMERON, ROBERT (BOB) Born December 3, 1934 – On May 25, 2024, Bob passed away peacefully at the age of 89. He was widowed by his loving wife Joan Cameron (McDonald) after 63 years of marriage. Bob was a loving and devoted father and will be greatly missed by his children, Julie Anderson (husband Phil) and Paul (partner Carolynn), and grandchildren, Samantha and Cameron. He was an older brother to Paul (wife Barb), predeceased by his older brother Bill (wife Thelma), brother-in-law Bill McDonald (survived by wife Ruth) and loved by many extended family members, including and his nieces, nephews, and cousins, who were all part of his many stories and thoughtful memories. From the early days at Sheppard Campus to his role as Dean for Business Industrial Training, Bob enjoyed his work as well as the people at Seneca College. He was a good neighbour and had many great years living on Yorkminster Road as well as in the Gazebo.
Bob was an incredibly positive human being. He demonstrated a great deal of appreciation to anyone and everyone that supported his daily life. He loved watching sports, connecting with family and friends, and golfing! Looking back, it is remarkable that he was able to live his life to the fullest up to his final days by traveling to Sarasota, spending time in Southampton, and enjoying all the people around him! Occasionally, Bob could be quite determined (perhaps stubborn); however, he had a huge heart and always welcomed others into his home where he would tell stories and have a few good laughs. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, loyalty to family, dedication to friends, admiration for Southampton sunsets, independence, and love of golf. Bob has reminded all of us about the importance of connection with others and appreciation for life. He always said he was a lucky guy, but it was really all that knew him who were so fortunate to have him in our lives.
Visitation will be held at the Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, 8088 Yonge Street, Thornhill, on Tuesday, June 18 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. The funeral service will begin at 11:30 am, followed by a reception for all friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made toward Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, by checking “Make this gift a memoriam donation” and entering Bob Cameron’s name.
