Passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Wednesday, September 21, 2011at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Irene for 61 years. Loving father of Bruce and his wife Judy, Doug and his wife Rosa and Dianne and her husband Michael Cupples. Cherished grandfather of Byron, Jason, Trevor, Travis, Ashley, Christopher and Nicole. Bob will be greatly missed by all of his family and many friends. He was a great fan of all sports and was the first recipient of the Bud Bishop Award for Athlete of the Year at Northern Secondary School. From his initial years as a carpenter and his subsequent career in the building industry, he remained passionate about his love of wood. Friends may call on Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 2-5 p.m. and Monday, September 26, 2011 from 12:30 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 1:30 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
