I am deeply saddened to learn of Robert's passing. In fact, it is only yesterday (July 8/14) I found out via an email notice from the Naps Assoc. of Past Students. My sincerest condolences go out to his family.

While Robbie was two years ahead of me at Naps, I had the privilege of playing alongside him on the Senior cricket team around 1974/75 while I was still a junior.

While his kids may have gotten the stories from him first hand, they would have had to see him in action to know how good a sportsman he was. He played both cricket and soccer for Naps at the time, but was particularly outstanding at soccer, in which he excelled as a defendeer (we called them stoppers in those days).

He was part of a soccer team in the 1970s that brought glory to he college. I still remember the way he headed the ball, like nothing I have seen - virtually headed the ball like a rocket.

He always wore a smile on his face and was not always far from pulling a mischevious prank on one of his buddies.

I knew he was in banking after school and then I heard he had migrated to Canada. In fact, even though I have been living here for the past 8 years, we have never crossed paths. 

Robert was surely one of the all time "greats" to have passed through the Naps halls and his deeds will certainly live on.

I have known Robert for 46 years. Robert Had an smile that was contagious, when he smiled you could not help but join with his joyous moments. Robert was kindhearted and very laid back. His passion had always been soccer and cooking, he was passionate about his curry duck and how to consume it. Robert was a good person who will be missed by our family. My condolences go out to Germine and family. I worked with both Germine and Robert at Republic Bank and those are days that always bring back fond memories.Actually knew Robert from his Naps Intercol days and would like to say that our memories of him will always be great ones because Robert was someone who could always make you laugh. Whenever the bank work was getting to us, Robert would do or say something to have us all laughing and thus relieving the stress. Robert, may your soul find heavenly rest and Germine, may God hold you in the palms of his hands during this trying time. My prayers are with you.

Robert was our youngest brother. We love you, we will miss you. May you rest in peace. Our thoughts, prayers, and well wishes are with your family.

Robert was a good friend and we grew up together in Poui Avenue, Pointe - a - Pierre Trinidad. I am still in shock over his passing, but know that he is in a better place. He was one of the nicest men you will ever meet and was always willing to help out when he could. We played soccer for a team called Wolves in a local league and he was our main defenceman. He was an avid sportsman and excelled particularly in soccer, I remember when he played for the Trinidad and Tobago National Soccer team. We were all very proud of him. My prayers are with his wife and kids. RIP my friend.

For so many years we have been friends, we have walked all over downtown Toronto exercising on our lunch time, we had shared stories of growing up in Trinidad, your time working in the bank, our families, the kids and soccer which we were both so passionate about, so much we shared Francis..we argued and disagreed about many things, but still remained firm friends.. If I was having a bad day at work, I would walk over to your desk or call you and say Francis, let's go for a coffee, and you would always be there.. If you were having a bad day, you would come over to my desk and kneel down on one knee and say..ehhhhhh Robbie hear this nah.....I will miss all of that but most of all I will miss you my friend.. Rob Francis..gone to soon papi.....

We had the pleasure of hanging out with the Francis family for a few soccer seasons. We criss-crossed Ontario and had a few journeys into the U.S.   Robert was always the guy to go to when we had any soccer related questions and/or complaints.  In his ultra-calm voice he would explain to us the refs call or non-call and everything would be peacefull once again. We will miss his Spicy split pea soup but most of all we will the gentle voice of Robert.

Robert was such a kind gentle man, I will miss him dearly, I still see him coming to my desk and saying Lori what's up? Do you think the Leafs will win the cup this year? And I have my Leafs cap dusted off and ready for the parade when they win. My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

Robert always had a smile and kind words to shares, I feel that I have lost a very good friend as well as a fellow co-worker. I will miss him greatly.

My condolences to the family. Your husband and father was a gentleman who was respectful to all that he came in contact with. He was so proud of the achievements of his kids. A great man who will be missed. My prayers to Germaine and kids.
