Rosa studied at Pittman College in London and returned to Iran to work for the National Oil Company. She married photographer Nejder (Nikol) Faridani and gave birth to two daughters, Jacqueline and Katrin. In 1979, the revolution in Iran prompted Rosa to move her daughters to Canada, where she settled in North York, and began working as a secretary/ administrator and eventually secured a full time position with the Ministry of Health. Rosa brought her parents to Canada to live with her, and managed to send both daughters to university, Jacqueline completing a DPhil at Oxford, and Katrin completing a degree in Photography at Ryerson. Later in life, she moved in with her longtime companion and enjoyed traveling until dementia related issues prevented her.
Rosa was involved in the Armenian Community Centre, often taking part in bake sales and cultural fundraisers. She loved music, dancing, animals, baking, holding dinner parties, and bragging about her daughters. Her main goal in life was to be a mother and she was an exceptional one, a role model for other women who knew her. She was strong yet loving, driven yet goofy, and the most affectionate person you will ever know. Rosa lost her battle to pneumonia and other complications due to dementia on June 12th 2020. She leaves behind her companion Robert Der Boghossians, her daughters Jacqueline and Katrin Faridani and her son-in-law Shahen Zadoorian.
She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to make her acquaintance.
Funeral will be held at Saint Mary's Apostolic Church on Saturday June 20th, 2020 at 1:30 pm, with visitation commencing at 12:30.
Donations can be made to the Toronto Wildlife Centre or St. Mary's Apostolic Church.
