Rosa Piccolo

Born February 2nd, 1922 in Mammola, Italy to Domenico Agostino and Maria Sansaloni Agostino. Married Domenico Piccolo in 1939. She is preceded in death by her husband who was lost on Russian soil in 1941. She immigrated to Canada in 1956. Rosa was a hard, devoted and reliable worker, who took her life very seriously. She served Sunnybrook Hospital for 25 years, retiring in 1985 to pursue her love of the outdoors and animals. She always enjoyed people and was very generous in every way. She is survived by her beloved sister Giovanna Bruzzese, much loved and devoted daughter, Vincenza Scarfo and her husband Frank Scarfo, and adored grandchildren, Domenic Scarfo, Rita Sweeney and her husband Lawrence Sweeney. She is also survived by nephews, Nicodemo Bruzzese, his wife, Barbara, and Franco Bruzzese, and his wife Renlee. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Saturday, September 29, 2007 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, September 30, 2007 from 2-4 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, South of Steeles). Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 1, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at St. David's Catholic Church, 2601 Major Mackenzie Drive, Maple, Ontario (905-832-5595). Interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
