Passed away peacefully on April 6, 2007 at Sunnybrook Hospital at the age of 86 years. Loving husband of Doris for 62 years. Devoted father of Roy Butler and his wife Margaret, Marilyn Ward and her husband Martin. Caring Grandpa of Michael, Teresa, Lorelie, Tara and Andrew. Great-Grandpa of Mathew, Lucas, Mark and Brock. Survived by his sisters Pauline and Joan and her husband Buck and his sister in law May . Predeceased by his siblings Norman, Leona, Beatrice and Leo. He will be lovingly remembered by his many family and friends. Friends may be received on Monday April 9, 2007 between 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane funeral home (6150 Yonge St. south of Steeles at Goulding). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday April 10, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Internment to follow at York Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or Memorial Baptist Church in Stratford.
