Passed away on June 25, 2009 at Humber River Regional Hospital in his 83rd year with his beloved wife Eleanor at his side. Russ and Eleanor shared 49 wonderful years of marriage. Russ, the son of Charles and Victoria O'Brien was the youngest of 6 boys. Will be sadly missed by cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and friends. He was a very close friend of the McAuly family of Kahshe Lake. Friends may call on Saturday, June 27, 2009 from 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Chapel Service will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to service. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
