Passed away peacefully, on Monday, January 12, 2004 at age 79. Cherished mother of Susan Carter of Toronto, Cindy and her husband Trevor Strocher of Alberta and David and his wife Robyn Carter of Mississauga. Loving grandma of Kimberly, Justin, Natasha, Mercedes and Chantal, and great-grandma of Brianna. Predeceased by her grandson Jason. Ruth is also predeceased by her sister Dorothy Simmons and brothers William Simmons and Rev. John Simmons. Visitation will be held at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles) Tuesday from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at 11 am. Interment to follow at York Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
