Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Providence Health Care at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Albert James Aird Reid (2001). Predeceased by George C. Norton (1967). Loving mother of Louise (Robert) and Carol (Frank), and step-mother of Jim (Maire) and Bill. Devoted grandmother of Adrian and Bryan (Kim). Ruth was a lover of wildlife and Northern Canada, who also was a strong supporter of many causes and charities. Friends may call on Saturday, July 5, 2008 from 10-11 a.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Charity of your Choice.
