Born in Jakarta on February 23, 1931, he came to Toronto in 2004.
During his youth he taught himself electronics skills and in 1953 he opened an electronics store “DECCA” in Jatinegara, Indonesia which became quite famous in the area. His customers loved his personal touch, so that years later they brought their children back to become his customers. He loved traveling to various countries, but his favorites were always Hong Kong and Singapore. Chinese cuisine was his favorite. His Cantonese heritage always brought him back to Dim Sum. Music and videos were important in his later years as he enjoyed his retirement in Canada. He was a quiet yet patient, loving, generous and always a very nice person to be around. His smile was his trademark.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Linda Widjaja; five children, late Sutarmin aka Aming (Janti), Tjendra (David), Ling (Josef), Meliana (Tino) , Budiman aka Ayung (Sherly); 6 grandsons, Kevin, Brian, Matthew, John, William and Thomas.
