Santo was born in Solto Collina, Bergamo, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1958. He settled in Toronto, and together with his beautiful wife Eleonora of 51 years, raised a family of three children: Daniele, Emma and Andrea. Santo was also a proud grandfather to: Matthew, David, Lucas, Emma, Andrew, Alexandra, Matthew, Lauren, Cristina and David. For them, his story will serve as a source of strength and inspiration as they strive to live up to their greatest potential and achieve their dreams. Santo made the most of his opportunities to achieve great success in the contracting and real estate development industries having co-founded York Excavating and Grading in 1963 and forever leaving his legacy on many of Toronto's landmarks. Always appreciating the gift of family and friends, he balanced his strong work ethic with family and social activities like playing cards with his friends, being an active member of the Earthmovers Association of Ontario and the Club Bergamasco which kept him connected to his roots. When not working or spending time with family, he enjoyed trips to Italy with his wife. Santo is also survived by his brothers John and Giulio Guizzetti, brother-in-law's Paolo Galletti and Tony Nubile, sister-in-law's Rosemary Galletti, Luisa and Dina Guizzetti as well as by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
