I only now just found out about Shirley's passing. I am so sorry to hear of her loss. I worked with Shirley back at the Unionville Library when I was a student page and she was a Children's Library Assistant. Shirley is a huge reason as to why I chose to make my career in the public library. After she retired, I had the honour of having her as a customer at the Thornhill Village Library. I will miss her a great deal.

I remember Shirley and Catherine from the early 50's on Strath Avenue. Their father Fred was my father's (Bud) uncle and the brother of my Grandfather, so Shirley is my second cousin. At the reception upon Catherine' death I was blessed with a reconnection and I spent an hour with her. We shared many stories and I learned some new ones, one being that Shirley was at Union Station to welcome my mother, Bud's War Bride to Canada. As a follow up I a helped her reconnect with her cousin Joan, my my Dad's sister, in Sault Ste. Marie. We had had a wonderful chat only a few months ago, and she seemed to be so well. I was very surprised to learn of her passing. My condolences to all of her close family members and broader family and friends. Earl Hotrum

When working with Shirley's sister Cath Mix at Catherine's Foods from the mid 1980s to the mid 1990s, I met Shirley many times over the decades from then until now. She was always so very warm and friendly. She will be forever loved and missed. It was a privilege and a joy to know Shirley. Tara and I send our condolences to her family.

I want to send my condolences to Shirley's family. I worked with Shirley for many years at the Thornhill Community Centre Library. Shirley was a joy to work with. She was cheerful and always willing to help the public and staff alike. I remember several very happy staff parties that we had on John Street. Shirley was a gracious, lively lady and will be missed.

Dear Aunt Shirley, so many happy memories of the Fraser clan (quite a mess of us! 8 kids and Mary and Dave with numerous animals always in our wake...) and the LePage gang...costume parties, camp reunion get-togethers, antique hunting, meals and celebrations...I hear her voice often laughing and trying to keep us all down to a dull roar. A great lady so proud of her family. Our condolences from the West Coast. We'll be raising a toast to her this Saturday and wishing we could be there to hug you all and share some memories of one of my very favourite Aunts. I was saddened to read of the death of Shirley. She and Don were the first people on John St. that we met, after my late husband Bill and I moved our old house to the lot across the street from the LePages. They were very kind, friendly neighbours and had us over to their charming old home many times for a drink and a chat. I have such nice memories of the both of them. I had the pleasure of working with Shirley at the Unionville Library. Her work ethics, her smile and her kindness inspired me for many years and were with me still when I retired 27 years later! Shirley was the finest of ladies!

I HAVE SO MANY FOND MEMORIES OF HAPPIER TIMES AT THE BIG COTTAGE IN SOUTHAMPTON. I HAD A LONG CHAT WITH SHIRL 3 MONTHS AGO AND AM SO GLAD THAT WE CONNECTED. SPECIAL PRAYERS TO SUE, SALLY, DAN AND FAMILY.
