I worked for Stan as a piano accompanist in his studio in Calgary.  It's hard to describe Stan's help and influence in my life. At the time, I was lost, not really knowing what to do with my life. I wanted to be a musician but had little experience.  Stan hired me and I worked with him in his singing studio, in his musical theatre courses, as well as accompanying his Robbie Burns shows! Over the years that I worked for him, he became more than my boss, but a friend as well.  He shared a lot of his stories with me and always encouraged me in life and music. I'm sorry to hear of his passing so late, since we lost touch when he moved to Toronto.  He was a really good and kind hearted man and I will always remember his joyous voice and smile.

Stan was a huge character. I'll never forget his big booming laugh, his twinkly smile, his rich baritone singing. He was larger than life. He had a big heart and he was very kind and encouraging to all singers especially those new to performing. He used to say: "Don't worry if you forget the words to your song. Just have a strong beginnng and a spectacular ending and the audience will forgive you anything!" When I went for lessons with Judith he was always in the background, singing, laughing, hammering. A presence. I loved seeing him sing with Judith. They were magic together. "Ah yes, I remember it well".......

I did not know Stan as an actor or singer tho I was aware that that was what he did . To me he was crazy ( in a very good way uncle Stan



	His visits to the Auld country wher never less than events , He was very very close to My father his older brother Archie



	who had looked after him as a boy and teenager and he did the same for me  In his last years Archie did not enjoy good health and died too young , Stans kindness to Anna my mother and myself knew no bounds , he did the repairs around the property that Dad could no longer do, he gave me my first Kilt and all the bits , taught me to fish and lots else! Stan treated me as a friend not some daft kid. He was perplexed when I joined the army as a profesional , and though proud unsure when I went into the church but always supported me .



	On my last visit he tho strugling with his illness was in every sence still Stan . We talked of folk and places back in scotland laughed fit to burst and he said an one point "My God Rabbie" (as my Dad called me) "that was just Archie" and I loved him all the more for that



	The family back in Scotland and the rest of the UK will miss him and his force of life the last of the Kane bros  Jonny Charlie Archie and Stan. As I have said at more funerals than I care to recall  You gave us your life and your love go gently to youe hevenly Father kind soul

Big, boisterous, larger than life.  Fiercely protective of and deeply in love with Judith.  He loved dogs, and they loved him!  The Stan I remember was always ready to laugh, with a song in his heart or a story to share.  A tremendously talented, passionate man.  It was an honour to know him, and an honour to work with him.

I am so grateful to have known Stan Kane. He was a big beautiful light with a bigger laugh. I was directed by him in Ruddigore and the Sorcerer in Calgary in the nineties, and appreciated very much his insight and the kindness he showed towards me. Sing with the angels, Stan.

The period of time over which I knew Stan was relatively short but this photo of him represents the man that I knew well.  I remember a ready and encouraging smile and word from him every time I went for a lesson with Judith when he was around. I remember that he was an amazing carpenter and handy-man.  He was an inspiration to Clint, a carpenter himself, who also shared Stan's proud Scottish heritage.  Even my daughter, who last saw him when she was only a young child, remembers Stan!  He was so kind and friendly with her.  One of my most memorable singing opportunities was given to me by Stan whe his Gilbert and Sullivan Society members staged "Amahl and the night visitors" - he gave me the honour of singing the role of the mother for half of the perfomances and encouraged me so much!  I haven't seen Stan since he and Judih moved from Calgary all those years ago but knowing that he is gone now makes me sad, but also happy for having known him. Stan's passion, talents, and kindness have made this world a much richer place.

So very saddened to hear that Stanley's big and beautiful light went out. Our wonderful friend is no longer with us. We offer deepest condolences to Judy and all the Lebane-Kane families. He was a great soul who brought such love and joy to all who knew him. Stan will be missed by all of us. We will especially miss his full warm singing voice and the sound of his resonant laughter. He leaves behind the legacy of his music, his art and the way he loved life itself. Rest in peace, dear Stan...

We are very sad to hear of Stan's passing. He will miss him very much and always remember him for his wonderful sense of humour, his smile and his contributions to the singing classes. Our deepest condolences to Judith and all the family. Love from Shireen, Chaim, Ariella Flatt and all our family.
