

Susan will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Leonardo Conte, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. She was the proud mother of Stella O’Donoghue (Gary), Marisa Maiorano (Marcello), and Giuliana Conte Munroe (Thomas), and cherished grandmother of Massimo and Matteo Maiorano, and Brianna and Isleigh Munroe. She is also survived by her brother Vincenzo Gemmiti (Sandy).
She rejoins with her parents, Antonio and Domenica Gemmiti, and her siblings Pasqalina Gemmiti (the late Dominic), Helen DiNunno (Fernando), and Donato Gemmiti (Marlene).
Susan will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister whose greatest joy was her family and friends. She had a deep love of gardening and a remarkable ability to make every meal feel special. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering care touched all who knew her.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Centenary Hospital and St. Michael’s Hospital for their compassionate care.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Homes - Thornhill from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m & 6:00 p.m - 8:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Blessed Trinity Parish (3220 Bayview Ave, North York) at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, and family and friends are invited to gather afterward for a reception at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Homes – Thornhill.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider a donation in Susan’s memory to the Brain Injury Foundation or the Diabetes Foundation, in honour of her generous spirit and the deep love and devotion she had towards her husband.
