In 1967, Thelma came to the decision with the help of her friend Doris Sinclair she relinquished all of her worldly possessions here in Canada to pursue a Christian calling in India.
Thelma was a matron at Hebron School (Coonoor, India) for 1o years. She became a surrogate mother that impacted the young girls lives. Upon her return to Canada in 1978, she developed a friendship with Dr. Barbara Berner. They travelled the world together, worked, and lived with each other for 40 years until Dr. Berner's passing in 2018. Thelma's faith, kindness, and generosity never waned even in her final hours. She will be missed by the countless people that met Thelma during their lives and her memory will live on.
