It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Bill Wilson after a brave and lengthy battle against cancer on Friday September 15th, 2006. Through his life Bill was a quiet yet decisive man and his passing was as dignified as the life he lived. He was always supportive, generous and loving towards his family. He was happily married for 58 years to his loving wife and best friend, Ruth. He was born in Vancouver in 1923 and also lived in Montreal for many years. He served in the RCAF and the RAFTC during World War II. He was educated at U.B.C., McGill and Johns Hopkins Universities. He was as dedicated to his career as a C.A. as he was to his family. He is survived by his wife Ruth, son Robert, daughter Jennifer, brother Dr. Robert Wilson of Surrey, B.C., sister Mrs. Jessie Griffin of West Vancouver, B.C. and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Mrs. Margaret Hyndman. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Sunnybrook Health Centre and the home care workers from St. Elizabeth Health Care. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday September 20th at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at the R. S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street (at Goulding, south of Steeles, Toronto). In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Elizabeth Health Care.
