
Frei, Albert Raymond, 62, died in his home in Brighton, Colorado on September 9, 2011 from complications from a hereditary disease. Machado Joseph Albert was born to Albert F. Frei and Reynalda Mary (Heer) Frei on May 2, 1949 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He lived his entire life around Henderson Colorado. He attended Assumption Church School through the 8th grade with the exception of 3rd grade where attended Henderson Elementary School. He then went on to Mt. Carmel Catholic High School in Denver where he graduated in 1967. He then went on to Mesa State Collage in Grand Junction for 1 year before his father made him a an offer he could not refuse; to join the business. His career as a Sand Gravel operator began as a young boy when he and his brother Fred helped his father take over the Sand and Gravel company that was leased to "Too Rocky". He has been President since 1975 and became the sole owner since 1982, working with his children ever since. On August 30, 1975 he married Mary Jane Wellner and had 5 children from 1976 to 1984. They were divorced in 1998. He was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church in Welby, Colorado the Commerce City Rotary Club. He was involved with the Partners Program which he revived the Minoru Yasui Community Volunteer Award in 1976 and won the CASE (Colorado Association of School Executives) award in 1999. He enjoyed work, his family; water/snow skiing and playing volley ball, poker and blackjack. He is survived by his five children Albert (Laura) Frei of Evergreen, CO, Bernard Frei of Broomfield, CO, Joseph (Amber) Frei of Brighton, CO, Lisa ( Rick) Elsinger of Bennett, CO, and Thomas Frei Of Arvada, CO; one brother, Fred (Jan) Frei of New Castle, CO; four grand-children, AJ and Carter Frei of Evergreen CO, Riley Frei of Brighton, CO, and Jacob Elsinger of Bennett, CO and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert (9-15-1981) and Reynalda (2-2-1980) and his sister Mary Joe Frei (11-21-2006). A Rosary will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 7:00 pm. The Funeral will be a held at 4:30 pm on September 15, 2011 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 2361 E. 78th Ave., Denver, Colorado. A private interment at Highland Cemetery, 102nd and Grant St. Thornton, CO, will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 16, 2011.
