At a very young age, Al’s father passed, and Al and his two brothers, Richard and Robert, went to Clayton College for Boys and spent their childhood years there. He often spoke of his conversations with the other boys there and encouraged them to be happy and thankful for all they had.
While in high school, he met June, the love of his life. In 1954 Al graduated from North High School in Denver, Colorado and joined the Navy. After Boot Camp he married June and served our country for the next four years. In 1955 Al and June started their family and had three daughters. He was always so proud of them. They were equally honored and proud to call him dad.
Al was a hardworking man and always focused on supporting his family. He loved nature and frequently commented on the beauty of the outdoors and his appreciation for living in such a beautiful state. He had great patience and enjoyed working on 1500-piece jigsaw puzzles. He was a Bronco fan since their inception in 1960. In his typical positive fashion, he remained true to them even when they were losing in the fourth quarter 51-14.
Al is survived by his wife June of 68 years, his three daughters, Vicki, Jody and Kathy, his son-in-law Art, his bonus son-in-law Marvin, his sister Peggy, six grandchildren, Nick, Chad, Paul, Stephany (Andy), Matthew and Glenn (Nicki), five great grandchildren, Blayke, Ryder, Camdyn, Brysen and Quinn and his two sisters- in-law Jeannie and Pat. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Edward Rector Sr., his mother Margaret Muro, his stepfather Joseph Muro, and his three brothers Richard, Robert and Joseph.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, father-in- law, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
Memorial Service will be held at Olinger Highland Mortuary at 1:30 PM, 10201 Grant Street, Thornton, CO 80229
