Alexander Waldschmidt

He grew up in Ellis, Kansas and moved to Colorado in 1956, where he met Darlene Rack at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. They dated through high school and married on April 8, 1967 in Denver, Colorado. They had two children.

Alex worked a variety of jobs, and in 2009 retired as a night custodian for the Aurora Public School system.

He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.

Alex is survived by his wife, Darlene; sons, Ricky and Danny; brothers, William "Bill", Walter (Lou Ann), and David (Debbie) Waldschmidt; sisters, MaryAnn Carlson and Gladys (Corky) Gassman; sister-in-law, Marilyn Waldschmidt.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alexander, Sr. & Mary Martha; brothers, Lawrence Waldschmidt "LJ" and Alfred "Fritz" Waldschmidt; sisters-in-law, Christy Waldschmidt and Cleopha Waldschmidt; brother-in-law, Norman Carlson; and nephew, David Waldschmidt, Jr.

A Visitation and Rosary will be held on Thursday, December 12, from 5-7 pm at Olinger Highland Mortuary, 10201 Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 13, at 10 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 2645 E. 48th Avenue, Denver, Colorado.
