Alice (Camilli) Toldness was a proud baby boomer and native of Colorado. Born March 3, 1953 Alice was a true Pisces, empathetic, creative and very generous. Alice sadly died at the much too early age of 68 on May 2, 2021. Her parents Grace and Francis Camilli had 4 children. She was the middle daughter of the family with 2 sisters and one younger brother John Camilli. Her older sister, Ada Sandoval (Jim) and younger sister Joyce Camilli still live close by and have daughters and grandchildren of their own. The family lived in Denver for many years before moving to Thornton in 1964 where they bought a home on Planet Place. Alice graduated from Meritt Hutton High School in 1971. It was in high school that Alice met her future husband Terry. They were married one year after graduation and were just weeks from their 49th wedding anniversary on May 27th when she passed. Children were not a part of their lives so they adopted and spoiled 6 cats over the next 49 years. Alice always inspired to be a teacher but life had other plans for her. In 1972 Alice began working in the food service industry with May D&F at the North Valley Mall. She was quickly promoted to manager of the Lookout Room, later named the Silver Plume restaurant. When the restaurant closed 10 years later Alice was offered another position with May D&F but she was ready for change. Alice began by taking a class in airline reservations sponsored by Frontier Airlines at the Brighton High School. Her first job was in reservations with Frontier Airlines. This was a two year learning experience that led her to apply for employment with the friendly skies of United Airlines. Alice found a new home with UAL. She began working in reservations and later in the Red Carpet Club at both Stapleton Airport and DIA. Alice stayed with United for 27 years retiring on November 19, 2013. Terry had retired two years earlier from a 36 year career with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office and this was the start of their golden years of retirement together. Alice took advantage of her travel benefits while working with United Airlines traveling to most every country imaginable from A (Africa) to Z (Zealand, the New one). Never traveling alone Alice shared these experiences with many. Frequently family and friends would accompany her on these trips. She especially enjoyed traveling with her mother, Grace. Alice was always amazed at how her mother kept up with her on their numerous cruises and trips throughout Europe and Australia/New Zealand. Two of Alice’s favorite trips were to China and Africa with her United Red Carpet Club friends. Alice enjoyed music, watching sports, collecting Beanie Babies, coins and other memorabilia. She loved going to movies and the theater, especially Broadway musicals like the Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables and Tommy. Living in Colorado meant the mountains were always close by for sightseeing and hiking. She especially enjoyed Estes Park, the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs and a ride on the COG railway up Pikes Peak with her sisters. A recent trip to Glenwood Springs and hiking up the steep 1.2 mile trail to Hanging Lake was one of her favorite achievements. Still without a doubt family was the highest priority in her life. She had a never ending and unconditional love for Terry, her mother, father, brother, sisters and of course the nieces. Alice delighted in making all the holidays and birthdays special for everyone. She was the Santa’s helper of the family, party planner, baby sitter, school function guest, chauffeur and at times family counselor. Alice enjoyed it all. Preceding Alice in death were her mother, father and brother. Alice’s memory will live long after her death in the hearts of Terry, her sisters, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends throughout the years.
