Ambrosia "Tita" Garcia (Aragon) went home to be with the Lord on December 26, 2020. Tita was 90 years old and passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family in Northglenn, Colorado.
Tita was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on November 22, 1930 to Cosme Aragon and Candida Aragon (Jaramillo). Tita was the youngest of 10 children that included seven brothers and two sisters, all of which precede her in death.
Tita married the love of her life, Salome "Jeo" D. Garcia, also from Las Vegas, NM, on December 11, 1948. The life they built was destined to be a long and beautiful one. The first time Tita saw Jeo dressed in his military uniform outside of church, she told her friends that she was going to marry him. They officially met a few months later and the rest is history. Tita and Jeo were married for 62 years before his death in 2011. The Lord graced them with five children: Roman Charlie Garcia (Gloria), Elaine Garcia (Buddy Crespin), Angela Garcia, Gail Garcia (Bob Lucero), and Mary Ann Baca. Tita was proud of being a loving part of 4 generations of the Garcia family. Tita has 8 grandchildren: Michael Garcia (Tiffany), Cynthia Garcia, Roman Charlie Garcia Jr., Tomee Crespin (Jaime Ruiz), Michael Crespin, Rachael Crespin, Bernadette Baca and Justin Lucero; 12 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Tita also has numerous nieces, nephews and cousins that held a special place in her heart.
Tita enjoyed life. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Tita loved to laugh, dance and listen to New Mexican music and really got going after a few shots of tequila. She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed bowling and was known to crochet a mean blanket. She enjoyed cooking her homemade chili, tortillas and sweet tea were family favorites and requested by many. Tita's calm and loving nature made everyone she knew feel welcome and cared for. She had a kind, friendly, caring, fun loving and energetic spirit that touched the lives of many.
Tita is preceded in death by her husband Salome Garcia, daughter Elaine Garcia, and grandson, Michael Garcia. There is no doubt that they all welcomed her home and immediately requested she make beans, chili and tortillas. She is the heart and soul of our family and will be greatly missed.
