Andrew Todd Kennedy, Jr., 94, of Thornton, Colorado, passed away May 19, 2019. He was born August 4, 1924 in Springfield, Missouri to Andrew Todd Kennedy, Sr. and Caroline Clarkson Kennedy. He moved to Denver at the age of 5 and grew up in North Denver. He enjoyed summers at Elitch Gardens and played baseball in empty lots. He was always the good guy when he played cowboys with his friends. Andy loved airplanes, and got a job spinning props at Combs Field, and later Hayden Field. He worked to earn flying lessons and got his pilot’s license before he learned to drive a car. Andy was a graduate of North High School. He enlisted in the Army shortly after Pearl Harbor, and served in Europe with the Ninth Army. After the war, he returned to Denver and graduated from the University of Denver with a business degree. Andy was chief pilot for Natrona Air Service of Casper, Wyoming. Later he became a Claims Manager for various trucking companies. In 1972, Andy married Mary Elizabeth Horton, and they set up a household in Thornton. They had two children, William and Nancy. Andy was active in his church, Good Shepherd Presbyterian. Andy dearly loved his wife, children and four grandchildren, as well as his nieces and nephew. He loved to laugh and sing, and had a wonderful sense of humor. The Fabulous Andy Kennedy is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Mary; children, William (Diane) Kennedy, and Nancy (Adrian) Bajcsi; grandchildren Amanda (Jake) Phillips, Ella Bajcsi, Jak Kennedy, and Adam Bajcsi; nieces, Deborah Livingston and Julie (Frank) Trent; nephew, Robert Livingston, and a host of other relatives and friends. He will be deeply missed.
