Anna Fern Bonner

April 16, 1923September 8, 2019

Anna Fern Bonner peacefully joined Jesus on Sunday, the 8th of September 2019, in Westminster, Colorado at 96 years of age.

Anna Fern Bonner was born in Casper, Wyoming on April 16, 1923 to her parents, Edward Merle and Lou Fern Curtis. She spent most of her childhood in Wheatland, Wyoming and later moved to Denver, Colorado. Anna was the oldest of 4 girls and 3 boys born to her parents. Known as Ann, Annie or Anna, she was much loved as wife, mom, daughter, sister, grandma, great-grandma, great-great grandma, Auntie and friend.

Ann had two sons, Gerald (Bonnie) and Glen (Terry) Shaw. Both sons preceded Ann in death. They shared many delightful years as a family.

Ann met her best friend, soulmate and love of her life, Lawrence (Larry) Bonner through his sister Darlene in 1959. They married in 1961 and lived a very happy life together. Larry Bonner preceded his precious Anna in death.

Ann enjoyed people. Whether that was traveling to see her grandchildren, even as far as to Germany, or camping locally, she was happiest in the company of her family. Her grandchildren have many fond memories of camping trips, where somehow she made the best biscuits in a motor home oven and bacon that is still talked about. Always the consummate host, she would cook and bake for her company. She was always dressed to the nines, with her lipstick on, her hair done and her nails polished. And yet, she could out camp the best of them. And boy did she love the wings at Wishbone!

Ann was preceded in death by her siblings: sisters Clara, Lily, and Esther and brothers Donald, Freddy, and Marvin. Ann is survived by her sisters-in-law Darlene and Carol. Ann is also survived by her daughters-in-law Bonnie and Terry. Bonnie and Terry were true daughters to Ann and she delighted in them both. She is survived by ten grandchildren: Tracy (Greg), Shelly (Skip), Kelly (Curt), Michael (Stephanie), Joy (Jeff), Theran (Renee), Rick (Terri), Jim (Tanya), Laura, and Glen; sixteen great-grandchildren: Jessica, Christopher, Casey, Chase, Zachary, Brad (Maggie), Melissa (Austin), Garrett (Ceara), Colton, Keenan, Lane, Desarae (Jake) Joshua (Nicole), David, Brittany, and Nicholas; and five great-great-grandchildren: Ashlynn, Oliver, Eli, Peyton, and Brock. Ann, or Aunt Annie, as she was lovingly called is survived by her niece Terri Lee (Dan), her nephew Eugene (Cheryl), her great nieces’ Alisa (Marvin) and Keri (Rory), and great-nephew EJ; and great-great Aunt of Ashlyn and Kaden.

The family would like to extend special thanks to The Retreat at Church Ranch for their love and care of Ann these past four years and to Elevation Hospice for making sure Ann’s last years were comfortable and her dignity was preserved.

Fond memories of Anna and expressions of sympathy for her family may be shared using the guest book link below.
