Barbara Ann Little

Barbara Little (Barb), Mother to Robert, Mark and Billie Jo, she passed away on February 18th, 2026, at the age of 91. She was born January 8th, 1935, in Johnstown, CO. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home in Thornton, CO with her son Robb and granddaughter Amanda by her side. The two of them along with her daughter Billie Jo helped take care of her the last months of her beautiful life. Barbara cared deeply for every member of her family.

She was known for her passion for fishing, baking, and caring for her loved ones. She passed this trait on to many of her grandkids. She loved doing jig saw puzzles, gardening and was an avid reader. In the early 1970’s she began her career in cosmetology which she continued throughout her lifetime. She ran the Beauty Shop at Elm’s Haven Nursing Home where her mother, brother and niece were residents. In the same time period, she began camp hosting with her husband at Red Feather Lakes. And later on, the forest service in the information center at West Lake in Red Feather, CO. After retiring from cosmetology and the forest service she enjoyed spending time with her friends weekly playing cards and dominos. She enjoyed playing sports like softball and bowling. She loved watching professional football, ice skating and baseball. The Broncos and Rockies were her favorites. She served on the board at the senior center with Bill where they enjoyed games and fun activities. And the homeowner’s association in their neighborhood.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents (Robert and Oma McCarthy) Her loving husband Bill. Her son Mark. Her sisters, Beverly, Roberta and brother Robert, A daughter in-law, a son-in law and other family members.

Barbara will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Barbara’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing. She is survived by her children Robert, Billie Jo (George), 10 Grandchildren: Amanda, Amy, Christopher (Courtney), Jennifer, Alyssa (Wayne), Samantha (Logan), Brayton (Madi), Tiernan, Makayla, Garrett. 14 Great- Grandchildren: Keiley (Raymond), Haley, Hayden, Landri, Aspen, Cooper, Channing, Nehemiah, Hugh, Ariel, Oliver, Toryn, Airys and Kace.

She will be cherished and loved for the rest of time. No longer in pain in the Lord’s arms. She is back with the love of her life Bill, her parents and son Mark.

In Lieu of flowers the family would ask that you donate to St Jude’s Hospital for Children in Barbara’s name.

A visitation will be held at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, located at 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229, on March 4, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.

The funeral service will follow at the same venue on March 4, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.

The committal service will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236, on March 4, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
