She was born on November 9, 1961, in Fairbury, Nebraska. Becky was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was the kind of person who cared about everyone around her, whether they were family or a complete stranger. Her heart was always open, and she had a special way of making people feel cared for and welcomed.
Becky had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for her naughty jokes, playful personality, and ability to make people laugh. She loved having fun and creating memories with the people she loved most. She especially enjoyed scary movies, and throughout the years she would gather her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews around to watch them together. Those moments became memories that her family will treasure forever.
She enjoyed her favorite classic television shows, especially Leave It to Beaver and The Andy Griffith Show. And if there was one thing Becky truly loved, it was Elvis Presley. Her love for Elvis was a part of her that everyone who knew her will remember.
Becky dedicated much of her life to caring for others. She worked as a CNA and also worked with people with disabilities. Her work was more than a job—it was a reflection of the compassion she carried throughout her life. She spent her life helping and caring for others, always showing the world just how much she cared.
Becky spent 35 years making her house a home, and it was there that she wanted to spend her final days. She had always told her children that she was going to pass away at home, and in the end, she was able to do exactly that. She chose to remain in her home in Thornton, Colorado, receiving hospice care and surrounded by the people who loved her.
Becky will be deeply missed by her children, Christina and Clay Harvey, Joshua Speth, and Sarah Speth; her grandchildren, Dominic Scurlock, Nevaeh Tafoya, and Nuria Speth Garcia; her brothers, John Paul Speth and David Speth; her sister, Kimberly Speth; as well as her many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia “Bonnie” Speth Reynolds; her father, Dallas Speth; her beloved granddaughter, Celeste Scurlock; and her beloved niece, April Speth Whelan.
Becky leaves behind a lifetime of laughter, love, stories, and memories. Her family will remember her not only for the love she gave, but for the laughter she brought, the lives she touched, and the countless little moments that made her uniquely Becky.
Though she is no longer here to tell one of her naughty jokes, laugh at a scary movie, watch her favorite shows, or sing along to Elvis, her spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her. Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever our mom.
Funeral services will be entrusted to Olinger Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery – Highland.
