Benita A. Muniz

She was born April 3, 1928, in Rio Chiquito, New Mexico to the late Perfecto and Bacilia Rael, siblings Lauriano Rael, Porfirio Rael, Rita Martinez, and Pauline Martinez.

She is survived by loving husband of 66 years, Jose L. Muniz, preceded by sons Abelito Muniz and Lawrence Muniz; Survived by son Tito Muniz, daughters Florinda (Angie) Sandoval, Gloria Cunningham, Della Muniz, and Darlene Muniz. She has 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.

She was a teacher’s assistant for 25 years and dedicated her life to children. She loved to play with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to sing, dance and play music. She had a contagious smile and loved to make people laugh.

The Muniz family tradition was to have Sundays at grandma and grandpo's. She brought us all together as a family every Sunday with tasty food, great conversations and amazing company.

The visitation and viewing are to be held at Olinger Highland Mortary located 10201 Grant St. Thornton, CO 80229, Thursday March 6, 2014 from 4-7. Memorial services will be held Friday March 7, 2014.
