

Bertha Brockel died Sunday, November 25, 2012 at her home in Westminster, Colorado after a short illness. Memorial Services will be held on Monday, December 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Spirit of Christ Catholic Chapel, 7400 W. 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado.
Bertha was born October 5, 1923 in Crosby, North Dakota to Ralph and Emilie Fleck (Hilfer). She attended schools in Wyoming. She met Phillip Brockel when their families worked adjoining farms. Bertha and Phillip were married November 10, 1946 at the Church of St. Rose in Torrington, Wyoming. In 1949 they moved from Torrington, Wyoming to Colorado. They lived in west Denver until 1979 when they moved to the Westminster area.
Bertha was a great wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked for 29 years at Mercy Medical Center in Denver, Colorado in the laundry department. In her retiremant she enjoyed crocheting, taking care of her flowers, and baking for family and friends. Bertha wa a strong woman and lived and cared for herself until her illness.
Bertha is survived by two daughters, Janet (Gary) Harras of Westminster, Beverly (Galen) Fogle of Westminster, four grandchildren, Jody (Kurt) Karrasch of Brighton, Jennifer (Matt) Jones of Brighton, Todd Fogle of Denver, and Traci (Andy) Luster of Denver, a great-granddaughter Gretchen Karrasch, and two sisters, Frances of Torrington, Wyoming and Eleanora of Casper, Wyoming.
Bertha is preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, and two sisters.
Bertha's warmth, generosity, and love for her family have made an impact on all who knew her.
