From an early age, Byron began his journey and personal relationship with Jesus. He was baptized on April 1, 1984 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Denver, CO. It was his faith that sustained him through many life trials. Over the years, he became a student of the scriptures and meditated deeply on the hidden meanings within them.
Byron was a natural born athlete. Even as a young babe, he threw the ball with ease. As the years passed, his passion for sports helped him build lasting relationships within his neighborhood and school community. His name is engraved amongst Hall of Athletes at Aurora Hills Middle School. After graduating from Gateway High School in 1991, he pursued his dream of becoming a pro-football player dedicating himself to perfecting his speed and precision. He played semi-pro football for local teams in the Denver Metro area.
As one skilled with his hands, Byron developed automotive, aircraft, elevator, and electrical skills from T.H. Pickens, Emily Griffith Opportunity School, and the Otis Elevator Company. In 2008, Byron earned a bachelor's degree in Information Technology from DeVry University.
In May of 2008, Byron met his future wife and love of his life, Kara Simonsen. Together, they welcomed three beautiful children into the world, Dezmond Elijah, Navaya Skye (deceased), and Tatyana Sky. While Byron dealt with extreme, life altering pain for several years, he never gave up. His "family", whether by blood or by choice, was what he fought for each and every day and who he will continue to bless even after his passing.
Byron was born into "eternal life" on September 21, 2016. YOUNG MAN
You are beautiful my SON, beautiful beyond words can say or anyone can measure. Your eyes are like a dove. Your teeth are as white as snow. Your smile is flawless SON, each tooth matches it’s twin.
We will miss your voice sounding clear as many water falls. Your face is as radiant as the sun. How happy we are for you, to enter GOD’s heavenly gate and with him putting his loving arms around you; resting at last. SON you fought a good fight, you stayed and finished your course, also you finished the race GOD had set before you in life. SON well done, well done Byron.
With Everlasting Love,
Willie Freeman
Your, DAD
