Carol Gold, age 65 of Northglenn, passed away Saturday, March 30th 2019. She was born to the late Lynn Martindale and Betty (Frye) Schmidt on October 5th, 1953, living in Arvada and Eastlake, Colorado throughout her childhood.
Carol was a bright light in the world possessed with a curious nature from the moment of her birth. She used that curiosity paired with a generous and kind spirit to pursue many passions. In 1973, Carol received her managing cosmetology license in Ohio and upon moving back to Colorado opened her own salon, La Jolene, in Northglenn. Ready for a different challenge, she spent the 1980’s as the regional manager for Consumer Beauty Supply locations throughout the state. In the late 1980’s Carol began working at the Albertson’s near her home in the bakery department. She learned the craft of cake decorating and became the store union steward. Carol’s interest and enthusiasm for the union were infectious and she eventually went on to become a union organizer and Vice President of UFCW Local 7. Prepared for the next adventure she went to work at the Adams County District Attorney’s office as a victims advocate for survivors of domestic violence. During this time, she traveled to Hawaii and became a Reiki Master using her love and energy to help others. In her later years, she enjoyed meeting many new friends and traveling through Scentsy. During the course of her life Carol’s love for animals was a constant source of joy; from riding her horses in barrel races to the decades of companionship with her adored Boston Terriers, animals were always near and dear to her.
With her many career accomplishments her most cherished job was that of mom. She was a devoted mom to her surviving children: Sarah and Aaron White; Jolene Ebersbach; Jeremy Ebersbach; her beloved granddaughter Makayla Lynn Ebersbach and a wealth of friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and her son Robert Joseph.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Friday, April 12th at 10:30 a.m. at Olinger Highland Mortuary Chapel, 10201 Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado 80229. Carol’s family requests that you wear pink, purple or turquoise in honor of her love of the bright and cheerful colors.
