

Caroline E. Baxter of Centennial, Colorado, passed away on October 25, 2025, in Evanston, Wyoming, where she had relocated to be near her only living child, Michael Baxter. Caroline was a strong, independent woman who had endured and overcome many challenges in life. She survived the loss of her youngest son and the death of her husband, battled and beat cancer, recovered from two broken hips, and lived through COVID-19. Ultimately, she lost her long fight with congestive heart failure.
Caroline was born in Denver, Colorado, on November 11, 1937. She married Floyd Baxter in 1960, and together they had two sons: Michael W. Baxter and David Lee Baxter.
She lived in Centennial, Colorado, for most of her life and worked for Montgomery Ward for 25 years, followed by another 25 years at Walmart. Caroline was very proud to have retired at the age of 84. In 2021, she relocated to Evanston, Wyoming, to be near her son Michael.
Caroline was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; her youngest son, David; her two sisters; and four of her brothers. She is survived by her brother, Gerard Flanders; her son, Michael Baxter, and his partner, RaNae Scherck, of Evanston, Wyoming; three grandchildren—Garrett Scherck (Oregon), Brandi Scherck (Washington), and Nicole Cross (Wyoming); eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews across the country.
