Born on August 20th, 1953, Cheryl lived with an intellectual disability, but it never defined her spirit. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life and had a deep love for puzzles, animals, church, word searches, and Elvis.
She is survived by her mother, Lillian Godbey; her brother, Ben Godbey; her sister, Jeanette; and her brother-in-law, Sean. She is also survived by Paul and Steffanie and their children: Carter (10), Hunter (8), and Winter (3); as well as Matthew and his wife Yan, and their children: Zelda (3), Caspin (1½), nephew Adam Bynum and step nephews Paul and Sean Nunez.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the caregivers and medical professionals who provided compassionate care and support throughout her illness.
A celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held on July 19th at 2:00 PM at Olinger Highland Mortuary, with burial to follow at Olinger Highland.
Though she faced many challenges, Cheryl Ann Godbey lived a full and meaningful life. Her memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
