

Clarence (C. L.) Elrod was born to Otto and Iva Elrod on October 14th, 1922 in Litchfield, NE where he spent his childhood on the family farm. He was a WWII Veteran, serving with honor in the U.S. Army. Following his tour of Duty he returned to Grand Island, NE where he married his wife Alois in 1948. He worked as a manager with Montgomery Wards for 42 years living in Nebraska, Iowa and North Dakota before settling with his family in Colorado in 1963. He was the owner and operator of Mile High Mobile Wash for 32 years. Clarence enjoyed traveling, having been to all 50 States and 11 Countries. He had a wonderful sense of humor and lived a robust retirement spending most of his time with his children and grandchildren sharing with them his love of horses, activities with 4-H and taking them on several trips across the country. He was known for his hard work and was always quick to help a neighbor. His hospitality and kindness was felt by all those lucky enough to have known him. A country boy at heart, he could usually be found in his flannel shirt and down vest.
Clarence will continue to be loved and remembered as Husband of Alois, Father of: Nancy (Mike) Coufal, Janice Elrod and Gayelynne (Rick) Duggan. Grandfather of: Carrie (Brandon) Laws, Jennifer (Ryan) Petersen, Brett (Alissa) Coufal, Jason (Nicole) Williams, Michelle Carter, Stephanie Carter and Hunter Duggan. Great Grandfather of: Carter Laws. Uncle to: 7 nieces and 3 nephews. He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Brothers Cecil, Floyd, Kenneth, Orval, and Sister Opal.
