DANIEL KENT BAIRD of Thornton, Colorado passed away Nov 17, 2023 at Collier Hospice in Wheatridge, Colorado. Daniel was born in Chicago, IL on January 21, 1945. His parents are Earl Baird and Lillian (Andrews) Baird. He was an only child. He spent most of his life in Thornton, Colorado. Daniel married Valerie Engler on June 15, 1973. He is survived by his children Dennis Baird, Brian Baird, Michelle Woods and Diana Gregory; grandchildren Nicole, Michael, Ryan, Adriana, Shelby, Rachael, Trey, Joshua, Kristi and Alena; great grandchildren Wyatt, McKenna and Monroe. Daniel was preceded in death by his beloved parents, wife and granddaughter Alisha. He graduated from Mapelton High School in 1963. He started his life long career at WYCO pipeline as a pipeline controller when he was 18. Due to career transfers, Daniel relocated to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in 1989 and lived there with Valerie until he retired from BP Pipeline in 2005. Daniel devoted his life as a faithful, loving, hard working husband, dad, and grandpa (Papa). He was a treasure and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was also blessed with so many wonderful nieces, nephews, sister and brother-in-laws and friends.
